What is it about roading contractors (public or private) that leads them to prepare the ground, spread the metal, pack it all down carefully and then dig it all up again to lay the drains? Why not do that first? As the kids quite rightly pointed out, " now they have mud all through the nice gravel!" Any one got an answer?
