How not to park a $1m crane!

Our hospital was having some work done on it and after all the hard work the crane just needed a wee rest so what better than a little lie down! Unfortunately it was not quite so funny as that and if it were not for the timing of a set of street lights a bus full of school kids would have been hit as this thing toppled over right outside the Hospital - very dramatic as the pictures I took from work will show. The accident occurred at about 10:30 am and at 5:00pm the road was still not cleared.

Today's excitement over the back fence - Armed Offenders Squad

A little too much action over the back fence today! I could not belive it when Ann came running to tell me there were Police over the back with rifles. Sure enough there were and the whole street was cordoned off for over 90 minutes while the drama played out. Very sad to see that it appeared to be a domestic dispute. At least it was all resolved with out any gun fire but is sure looked to be all on there for a while!

Big 5 Year Old Girl Now! The Fairy Party

Danielle has been talking about her 5th birthday ever since she turned 4 and now it has finally arrived. She had a great day on Sat with a few friends over for a fairy party and, thanks to Mum's superb organisation the girls had a wonderful time. Older brother and sister got into the spirit of it as well and Alana was heard to say that it was not as boring as she thought it was going to be! It wasn't so long ago that she was having such parties. And as for Samuel, well he was down on his knees, on the floor helping wee Lizzy Park make her bead necklace and thoroughly enjoying himself!! Well done you two!!

Tuesday in Mornington

The picture above was taken by the husband of a colleague in our suburb! Still managed to drive to work this day and pick up the boss on the way.

Snow Bound - School's out for the day

This morning we woke to a layer of snow over the hills.

Not overly deep this time but treacherous because it lay over black ice and once driven on a few time it packed down into what was just one big ice sheet. This I discovered after putting the chains on, driving across town to pick up my boss and then gingerly make our way down the hill. We only had one episode of unplanned perpendicular "reverse" parking. We managed to make a good recovery and continue the trip with out further incident. Thankfully!!

This kids had a great day too - see the photos!
