This afternoon Samuel and Alana had friends over while Danielle went visiting one of her friends. Despite my doubts as to whether the two groups (boys and the girls) would actually get on, they had a great afternoon together.The volume was loud, the pace was fast and they even managed to have the first story concrete floor of the house shaking. That's some achievement! One of the things the kids enjoyed doing together the most was collecting all the walnuts that had fallen from our tree. Here they are in trays drying in the afternoon sun. It wasn't until we started collecting these that we realised how many more we could have had. We have tended to just leave them in the past! Bit of a crime I know. It also explains why we have been visited by possums. This kids from the neighbourhood were climbing the hedge at the back of our property while we were collecting the nuts and they were finding plenty that had fallen on to the hedge as they walked along the top.
