Ride to Mac'Bay

The day dawned clear and fine and it was pretty soon apparent that it was going to be one of those stunning Dunedin winter days. The type of day when the bike beckons to be ridden, the warmth of the sun felt and the views enjoyed. After church I caught up with Alan D. a friend of mine and fellow cyclist. He was easily persuaded that today was the day to hit the road. So after lunch we met up and rode from his place on the Otago Peninsula down to Vaxhaull and on to Macandew Bay. Here we stopped and soaked in the view as we looked back up the harbour to the city and beyond to Saddle Hill. All to soon it was time to head back to Alan's and the ride up Larnach Road which is an absolute killer even on a well geared bike. Thanks Alan for a great afternoon.
